About Us

Our History

A pastor who lived and served in the Conestoga Valley School District saw a homeless man in the stairwell of a church. He realized that in these economic times, he needed to create a place where people from the CV area could get some assistance.

This pastor went to the Leola Ministerium and found that the other pastors in that organization had also seen an increase in need through their churches. People would call these churches seeking help to make ends meet.

Conestoga Valley Christian Community Services was created to have a central location where we could meet the needs of feeding the residents and parishioners of the Conestoga Valley School District and clothing nine school districts from our clothing bank.

In 2013, the committee found a clean, air conditioned space that we thought would be perfect. It was centrally located on a bus route between route 30 and 340. Only by the generous support of the landlords were we able to afford such a wonderful space. Two food banks, the CV food Bank and We Care, and a clothing bank, Corner of Hope, merged and became CVCCS – a dream that had been in the planning stages for five years.

Our Mission

In keeping with Christ’s teachings, CVCCS works to meet the various needs of our homeless, at-risk and socially isolated neighbors by providing food and clothing, as well as access to established social service providers in an effort to sustainably improve their standard of living.
